Weekly Curriculum

Week 1:

Foundations & Single-Color Film (2hrs)

Week 2:

Print 1-Color Design & Prepare 2-Color Film (2hrs)

Week 3:

Print 2-Color Design & Plan Multi-Color Project (2hrs)

Week 4:

Print Final Multi-Color Project (2hrs)

Intro to silk screen basics, tools, safety, and full process overview.
Hands-on: Design a simple image and create film for exposure (using our machine).
Homework: Refine design for printing.

Demo: Coat, expose, wash out screen; ink mixing and printing.
Hands-on: Print your 1-color design on paper/fabric; create film for 2-color design.
Homework: Plan registration for 2-color print.

Review: Registration techniques and troubleshooting.
Hands-on: Print 2-color design; brainstorm and plan multi-color (3+ layers) final project.
Homework: Finalize multi-color design and films.

Hands-on: Expose screens, set up multi-color registration, and print personal project (e.g., poster or tote).
Group critique, tips for home printing, Q&A.
Take-home: Finished prints and screens.
